Faculty should apply if the project meets one or more of the
following criteria.
- Encourages or investigates innovative teaching methods.
- Involves collaboration with other colleagues for instructional purposes.
- Fulfills an individualized need to help attain teaching excellence.
- Impacts instruction and learning in the classroom.
- Brings multi-cultural perspective into the classroom.
- Involves cross-disciplinary or collaborative efforts within a department or
campuses.
Funding will not be provided for:
- Long, ongoing projects that need funding from year to
year.
- Non-faculty travel or expenses.
- Equipment or major purchases (rental of equipment or
software purchases may be allowed).
- Applicant’s college or university tuition or salaries.
Individual and Group Instructions
for 2009-10 Faculty and
Professional Development Award
- Complete the application form and submit electronically.
- If group application, include names of all applicants, the designated
contact person for the group, and the group's academic discipline.
- Include brochures or information to support or explain the project.
- Submit a detailed budget itemizing all costs and all revenue sources related
to the project.
*A stipend may be awarded to the faculty member(s) who coordinate(s) the project
for a group application.
- Devise a plan for assessing the project.
- Activity must be completed by December 31, 2010.
- The applicant will submit the
professional
development activity report detailing objectives, activities,
and assessment of the project. Reports are submitted to the NDCCC
Secretary/Treasurer on or before January 31, 2011. Reports
may be submitted electronically in the format of the applicant’s choice
(PowerPoint, web page, et cetera).
Deadlines for Individual Awards
Please
submit your application electronically to the NDCCC
Secretary/Treasurer by October 1, 2009 or February 15, 2010. Funds are limited and the final
decision will be made by the NDCCC executive committee on or about October 8,
2009 and February 25, 2010. If you are selected to receive an award, you will be
notified the week of October 12, 2009 and the week of March 1, 2010.
